Lake Creek Wranglers

“Lake Creek Wranglers”

Original pencil drawing by Teresa Schleigh

“In 1936 Floyd Charley started the first 4-h Beef club in Jackson County, Oregon with a hand full of local ranchers kids.  One of those seven little boys was Charles Stanley, who went on to become a long time cattle rancher in the area.  “Uncle Charley” as he is known to just about everybody, kept every kid around on the top side of their horses, out of trouble and maybe even alive in some cases.  In this drawing, it is Uncle Charley’s hand that is reaching down to Wade Perry, the Great, Great Grandson of Floyd Charley.”

The Fruit of Our Labor

“The Fruit of Our Labor”

Original oil by Teresa Schleigh

“Few things remain constant in today’s fast paced world.  The ability of the cowman to utilize range lands and produce food for our nation is one of those constants.  Often done the way it was hundreds of years ago, it is a part of our west that still remains wild.”

Oregon As calves by their mother’s side, these steers summered on the
mountains behind them, making the same trip as cattle have done in this
